Here’s another short piece I wrote for The New Yorker’s Book Bench about Amber C. Jones’s forthcoming “New York, Phew York,” a scratch-n’-sniff children’s book featuring the good, bad, and ugly smells of the city.
I mostly talked to Jones about the way she’s getting that New York smell onto the page, but it was also cool to hear about how she’s self-publishing with funding via Kickstarter.
(p.s. That image is a screen shot from The New Yorker’s homepage, where my story was featured front and center for like 12 hours. Coolest thing ever.)
