The Washington Post – Review of Domestic Violets by Matthew Norman

My review ran on the cover of the Style section in Saturday’s Post, which means it got the full color treatment and everything.

I loved the book.  It’s laugh-out-loud funny at points and surprisingly tender at others.  For more from author Matthew Norman, check out his blog, The Norman Nation.

The New Yorker – The Book Bench: How “Fielding” Hit Its Homerun

My short piece about Michael Gessen’s eBook – How a Book is Born: The Making of The Art of Fielding – from Vanity Fair.

The book exceeded my expectations. I loved reading about Harbach’s road from college to literary stardom, and I found Gessen to be both clever and funny.  Fans of long-form narrative journalism will love it, and it’s an absolute must read for those interested in publishing.

Big thanks to The New Yorker for working with me to get the tone right.
